It attracts many visitors from all over the world including a large number of artists, jetsetters and party goers. Its a busy island with plenty to do by day or night Plenty for those who choose to have a lively time. May - June - September it's a great time to visit Mykonos for those who wants a more peaceful holiday. October can also be a great month to come here, but the eastern Mediterranean weather could be more of a challenge.

Beaches
Paralia Korfos beach is good for windsurfers. Close to Mykonos town. Located on the other side of the Ornos Bay-beach.
Ornos Beach a bit upmarket beach area, Plenty of beach tavernas and bars.It’s well-developed, family-friendly beach about 3km from Mykonos Town. Local bus from Mykonos Town.
Elias Beach locate 10km south of Mykonos Town, Bus available from Old Port bus station ( Mykonos Town) around 30 minutes journey. One of the longest beaches on Mykonos. Water sports facilities. Beach bars with music. Far right end, opposite the car park, rainbow flag, gay friendly beach.
Platos Gialos beach 4km from Mykonos Town, it's a great family beach and easy to reach by , taxi, taxi boats and local bus. Lively village and resort. Sandy beach stretch in a sheltered bay lined with waterfront bars, tavernas, and seafood restaurants. Summer activities include yachting, windsurfing, and parasailing.
Agios Ioannis beach named after a small chapel standing above it. Agios Ioannis beach was made world-famous as the location for the award-winning motion picture "Shirley Valentine". Located on the west side of the island, facing Delos.
Kalafati Beach popular with families and those who enjoy water sports especially kite-and windsurfing

Places to Stay Mykonos
To stay on Mykonos from luxurious suites overlooking the blue sea or in charming boutique accommodations nestled in the island's many beach resorts, or in Mykonos town itself. Hotels, apartments or villas provide a great mix of comfort, elegance, and the familiar Greek hospitality.
Prices are generally high in peak season (July and August). Accommodation along Mykonos town or any beach resorts main street could be lively and noisy. Some accommodations might ask for minimum stay of 3 nights during the peak season.

If you arrive without reservation Mykonos association of Rooms, Studios and Apartments have a service office second building (in the row of buildings) in the old port, Mykonos.
