A family gathering took us to Malaga for an overnight visit in December 2022. A bit of sightseeing, Malaga light included, but most of our time we spend in various tapas bar.

Cheesequeria

We also managed to include a late afternoon coffee break at the popular Cheesequeria that served (or takeaway) very tasty homemade cheesecakes and a delicious pistachio cake and all of this happened in a fairly newly open cafeteria. Highly recommended.

El Farolito.

Our first tapa stop in the afternoon was at the superb parrilla Argentina El Farolito.

We shared a few dishes including Molleja (sweetbread) Morcilla (blood sausage) Various mouthwatering Provoleta (which is the best part of a grilled cheese sandwich when the cheese caramelizes on the bottom of the pan).

We drank beers and a few glasses of red wine, Outside seating, good and joyful service. Not to be missed.

Los Patios de Beatas,

wine bar,, restaurant and events organiser. We placed ourselves in the wine bar area with a decorative and interesting wall wine rack filled with various wine bottles.

We shared a cheese plate with our bottle of red wine from Ribera del Duero. Perfect combination, and a very nice afternoon event.

Have a look at their website, they organise wine tours, wine tasting and concert event, they als have their own wine club.

Los Patios de Beatas wine cellar with over 600 national and international wines.

After a full day of eating, drinking very well and walking around Malaga historical part it was time to head back to our sleeping place but first watching the Malaga lights then we headed for a short visit to the malaguena institution El Pimpi one not too be missed.

After our short break we continue our walk through the busy streets of Malaga heading for

Cervantes Tapas (El Tapeo de Cervantes)

located close to Cervantes theatre in Malaga.

In our opinion this was something special, it had been recommended to us and we have reserved a table for four.

Time to enter of the Tapas world of Cervantes. Not a large place, rather narrow serving area, food offers on various blackboards and busy, Smiling staff serving.

We order 4 medio platos to be shared, peppers stuffed with cod, in fresh tomato sauce, mashed potato, Venison fillets served with tomato chutney and mushroom, Squid in the pan, with spinach and mashed potato, Wild boar in sweet Málaga wine sauce,

each dish was delicious.

We managed to share a bottle of a good Ribera del Duero (just under 20 Euros) from their winelist. Did I say we shared two lovely desserts, finished of with coffee.

I believe this is one of the best tapa choices you can find in Malaga.
