Emborio (Nimborio)

is the port and capital of the island and the only settlement on the Island located on its southeast coast.

The village is built around the picturesque port and seafront. The lower part on the hillside it’s full of stone houses and renovated mansions. Three old, restored windmills can be seen on top of the hill.

Take a stroll around the harbour quayside with tavernas on one side and small fishing boats moored on the other side.

During your stroll here, you will most likely enjoy a taverna lunch or dinner. The pre-dinner mezethes and a glass of ouzo will probably never taste as good anywhere else than here.
